You know what common theme both the wins and the losses have? It’s about my personal performance. It’s about my crew. It’s not about the skaters. I don’t even know what the score of your game was. I barely know who won unless I pointed my little reffy paw at you and blew the whistle to signify victory.

Moonwalking was great, but what if you could do other things in a similar style? Such as moonswimming, or maybe moonwhacking. Soon, everything we did would look like we were doing it forward, but we would actually be doing it backward. But then, I guess we would say that forward was backward and that backward was forward. Once that happens, I will just start walking forward, which will look completely amazing. But what if everything we are doing is actually being done backwards and He was that man walking normally? Oww, my mind grapes.

And special thanks to Antti Niemi … because without you… the Pacific Division would just be known as that division full of really talented young goaltenders.

There are more including a bunch of big cats devouring prostrate women for some reason. But, I like this one. It reminds me of my irrational fear that crops up sometimes in the deep end of the pool.

What’s with all the new services wanting to store all my photos lately? Are they thinking photos == Facebook? Google+ Instant Upload. Dropbox. Oh Flickr, built so well it can languish so long but showing no signs of getting back in the fight anytime soon.

“Notice how every other alien’s dialog is subtitled in Star Wars except for Chewie’s? That’s because every word out of his mouth was a declaration of love, and only one person can understand the truth in his heart.”

So if you’re an Instagram user, you’ve been picking up on all of the cues about how important you are, how valuable you are to Instagram. Then along comes Facebook, the great alien presence that just hovers over our cities, year after year, as we wait and fear. You turn on the television and there it is, right above the Empire State Building, humming. And now a hole has opened up on its base and it has dumped a billion dollars into a public square — which turned out to not be public, but actually belongs to a few suddenly-very-rich dudes. You can’t blame users for becoming hooting primates when a giant spaceship dumps a billion dollars out of its money hole. It’s like the monolith in the movie 2001 appeared filled with candy and a sign on the front that said “NO CANDY FOR YOU.

But decades ago Mayo recognized that the first thing it needed to do was eliminate the financial barriers. It pooled all the money the doctors and the hospital system received and began paying everyone a salary, so that the doctors’ goal in patient care couldn’t be increasing their income. Mayo promoted leaders who focussed first on what was best for patients, and then on how to make this financially possible. No one there actually intends to do fewer expensive scans and procedures than is done elsewhere in the country. The aim is to raise quality and to help doctors and other staff members work as a team. But, almost by happenstance, the result has been lower costs.

Commie medicine sounds really good. Note to self: move to a city with a Mayo-like hospital.

That’s because power begets power: Democrats can be counted on to compromise with conservative nuttiness, and the media can be counted on to normalize it. And it’s because there will always be millions of Americans who are terrified of social progress and of dispossession from whatever slight purchase on psychological security they’ve been able to maintain in a frightening world. And because there will always be powerful economic actors for whom exploiting such fear, uncertainty and doubt pays (and pays, and pays).

Can I aks you a question?
Are you a dwarf?
